Q. Mr Anwar, do you see children in your private ENT practice?
A. Yes. I have a large paediatric ENT practice at my main NHS hospitals: West Middlesex Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. I also see private paediatric patients at my private clinics at Cromwell Hospital, BMI Syon clinic and Chelsea & Westminster private patients unit. I provide full clinical diagnostic and treatment services for paediatric ENT patients including:
- Recurrent ear infections, glue ears
- Hearing loss in children and speech delay
- Recurrent upper respiratory tract infections and Croup
- Recurrent tonsillitis
- Neck lumps and lesions
- Snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea
- Tongue tie
- Cough and recurrent sinusitis
- Hay fever and allergic rhinitis
- Nose bleeds (epistaxis)
I perform my paediatric surgical ENT treatments at Cromwell Hospital and Churchill Clementine Hospital. Surgical procedures include:
- Surgical treatment of middle ear effusions (Glue ears) and grommets
- Adentonsillectomy
- Coblation tonsillectomy
- Myringoplasty (patching of perforated ear drum)
- Endoscopic Sinus surgery for chronic sinusitis
- Septoplasty and reduction of inferior turbinates
- Diagnostic Microlaryngoscopy and bronchoscopy
- Surgical treatment for complicated laryngomalacia
- Excision of neck lesions including surgical management of Thyroglossal Duct Cyst
- Cauterisation of nose (in clinic and operating theatre)
I work alongside a range of paediatric consultant specialists and specialised therapists in order to provide a full range of medical services to my paediatric patients and would accordingly discuss with the parents the benefit of onward referrals to a specialist service for further advice and guidance. These might include a referral to a paediatrician with respiratory and allergy interest, speech and language therapist, hearing therapist, and a referral to a tertiary ENT paediatric centre e.g. Great Ormond Street Hospital.
