Q. How can I arrange to see an ENT specialist?

A. Ear Nose and Throat is a hospital based surgical speciality that is available in most Hospitals around the UK. Most established university hospitals or district general hospitals in the UK would have an ENT department. Your family doctor can refer to ENT departments via the NHS route whenever they feels appropriate. For patients with a private health insurance, or self-pay patients seeking private consultations with an ENT specialist, they can seek appointments via three routes:

  • GP referral to a private ENT specialist, either a general referral or a named consultant of their preference
  • Discuss directly with their insurer, whenever indicated they would produce a list of recommended ENT specialists at the patient’s location of choice
  • Directly seek an ENT opinion via private care providers (hospitals and clinics) or with the consultant directly via their website or their personal assistant

I, for example, accept referral via those three routes above. My clinics at BMI Syon, Cromwell Hospital and 9 Harley street all accepts direct self-referrals from patients. I also accepts direct referrals via his website www.anwar-ent.com or by calling my PA Miss Olimpia Palici on mobile: 07541516454, landline: 02071172437 or email: secretary@anwar-ent.com
